NAS Longhorn Deck Supports Human Rights Day at the North Texas Food Bank

In commemoration of Human Rights Day 2024, the National Association of Seadogs (Pyrates Confraternity) Longhorn Deck participated in the “Honoring Human Rights with Every Meal” initiative at the North Texas Food Bank on December 14, 2024. This effort aimed to address food insecurity and emphasize food as a basic human right.

Addressing Food Insecurity
The project focused on sorting and packing donated food to provide meals to individuals and families facing hunger. Volunteers from NAS-Longhorn Deck collaborated with other participants to process:

  • 36,256 pounds of food
  • 30,713 meals

Through their teamwork, they made a significant contribution to the food bank’s mission of ensuring no one in the North Texas region goes hungry.

A Day of Meaningful Contribution
