On the 27th and 28th of May, 2023, Walk347 lace their walking shoes and take on the London to Brighton 100 kilometer Challenge to support Prostate Cancer UK. This journey is not just about miles; it is about making a real difference in the fight against prostate cancer; a disease that affects about 1 in 8 men over their lifetime and the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men.
Prostate cancer is more likely to develop in older men, with about 6 cases in 10 being diagnosed in men who are 65 or older. Furthermore, the average age of men when they are first diagnosed is about 661. Despite advances in treatment and earlier detection, the pace of decline in the prostate cancer death rate has slowed, reflecting a rise in cancers found at an advanced stage.
Through this walk, Walk347 aims to raise vital funds for prostate cancer research, treatments, and support services and to encourage awareness and early detection. Your support can make a real difference. You can contribute by donating, big or small, on our JustGiving page: Donate Here.
